Adriane Ivey

DR. ADRIANE IVEY received her PhD in English Literature from the University of Oregon. Her areas of specialty are African-American literature, Rhetoric, and Freshman Composition, but she’s taught courses and directed studies ranging from Advanced Grammar to the YA fantasy of Harry Potter and The Chronicles of Narnia to television shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Her work, particularly her study of African-American literature, is often informed by her study of Christian theology. Currently, she’s been studying a relatively new genre blend: Crime novels by women that feature female PIs and employ conventions of contemporary Romance novels. She thinks her husband has too many comic books.

While most teenagers feel at some point that their parents are evil, Vaughan’s fantastic teenage heroes know their parents are EVIL. We follow them in this first volume of RUNAWAYS as they struggle to figure out how to use their newly discovered powers not only to rebel aga... Read More
