2) Kate Milford has a new project: Kate Milford, whose The Boneshaker we adored, is working with tween and teen artists on her new novella The Kairos Mechanism which is related to The Boneshaker. She is raising money to pay the young artists and offering you some freebies (including a digital copy of the book) if you contribute. 3) New audiobook company in South Africa: Marinda Botha has started a new audiobook company based in South Africa where there’s not much audio fiction to choose from. She’s got one fantasy title so far (a short story) but hopes to add more in the future. Marinda says “It is a long-term goal of mine to make audio literature available in all 11 official South African languages.” You can see her catalog at Betathanpaper Productions.

fantasy book reviews science fiction book reviews4) Philippine Speculative Fiction Series Joins Flipside’s Spec Fic eBook Lineup: Our friend Charles Tan let us know that the first volume of the anthology Philippine Speculative Fiction, which was first released in 2005 and paved the way for a unique literary movement in the Philippines, is now available as an eBook. Stories from the Philippine Speculative Fiction series have been included in the Honorable Mentions list from The Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror edited by Ellen Datlow and Kelly Link & Gavin J. Grant, while the individual anthologies have been praised by World Fantasy Award-winning author Jeffrey Ford and SF writer Nancy Jane Moore. Philippine Speculative Fiction Vol. 1 is now available on Amazon for $0.99 and Philippine Speculative Fiction Vol. 2 for $3.99. The next two volumes will be released in May.
