Spiral — (1990-1997) Publisher: During a nostalgic visit to the docksides of his youth, Steve, an unassuming import/export agent, steps into another universe, where buccaneers, demigods, and mythic heroes mingle.
Stand Alone Fantasies: The Ice King (Burial Rites) — (1986) Written as Michael Scot, with Allan J. Scott. Publisher: A Viking temple and long boat lie preserved in the clinging black mud of the North Yorkshire estuary. As they are unearthed past and present merge, as huge death-cold creatures stalk and destroy through the blizzards of an eerily early winter.
A Spell of Empire: The Horns of Tartarus — (1992) With Allan J Scott. Michael Scott Rohan's website explains: Two of the characters were our own caricatures of each other. Guy de Guillac, the ballistic Burgundian whose magic can only reach full power when fuelled by alcohol, bears a passing resemblance to Mike. Thorgrim Alfvinnson, the sarcastic Scandinavian with two left feet, bears a slightly more distant resemblance to [Allan] (at least Thorgrim has 20-20 vision...) As a result, a new element entered the plotting - how could we get our writing partner into a really embarrassing situation, and leave him to sort it out in the next chapter...?
The Lord of Middle Air — (1994) Publisher: From the wilds of the Borders to the enchanting and terrifying lands of Faerie...
When young Walter encounters his kinsman Michael Scot, his life is changed for ever. Even in the turbulent Borderlands of thirteenth century Scotland, Scot has a fearsome reputation as a master of forbidden arts, trafficking with the demons of middle air.
Now he has returned from years of exile with the Pope's pardon and the favour of the Emperor, yet strange events still follow him.
When Walter's father is ambushed and killed and his own life is threatened by a powerful and dangerous necromancer, Scot appears to offer aid... but there is a terrifying price to be paid.
