Some of your favorite authors take some time to answer our questions:
Got any news to share?
Ken Scholes: I do… I recently turned in Requiem, volume 4 of the PSALMS OF ISAAK, and it will be out from Tor Books in June 2013. And I’ve just recently taken the plunge to become a full time writer.
Pati Nagle: This summer my first mystery novel was published! Written under the pen name Patrice Greenwood, it’s set in a tearoom in Santa Fe so it combines two of my great loves, tea and New Mexico. A Fatal Twist Of Lemon is available in print and as an ebook from Evennight Books and Book View Café. On the personal front, I’ve been playing a fair amount of poker this year. I’m in a free poker league, World Tavern Poker.
What are you working on these days?
Jacqueline Carey: I’m working on the second book in the AGENT OF HEL series, tentatively titled Autumn Bones.
Michael J. Sullivan: I’m working on a science fiction novel that was inspired by a short story I wrote called, “Greener Grass.” The new novel is tentatively entitled, Hollow World and explores time travel to a future which mirrors John Lennon’s Song, “Imagine.” It explores whether a world without religion, countries, or want is Utopian or a homogeneous landscape lacking passion.
Read any good books lately?
Bradley Beaulieu: I loved Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. This book was right up my alley. I’m a child of the 80′s, especially as it relates to the gaming, geek, and movie sub-cultures, and Ready Player One was simply steeped in those things. It was a very easy read and had a compelling storyline, one of those books you can’t put down. You know, the “just one more chapter” kind of book. I highly recommend it for anyone that was around then (it’ll take you back, trust me) or those that are into online gaming now.

Running With the Demon: Brooks' best novel
Inkheart: Great premise weakly executed
The Waters Rising: Did Not Finish
“A Fatal Twist of Lemon” is an awesome title! I’ll be looking for it.
I know, I like that title, too.
I’ve been on the waiting list at my library for Ready Player One for quite a while. Looking forward to it.
I noticed that title too. I was wondering if its a shout-out to Lemons Never Lie by one of my favorite crime novel authors, Richard Stark -pin name of Donald Westlake.
I was looking over the FanLit reviews for Ken Scholes after seein g his comment. Psalms of Isaak looks interesting. I kinda like fantasy with a twist on the Bible.
